Johnny's Idea:Writing; an outlet to express my emotions

I LOVE WRITING. I express my feelings through writing, I’m not really a good writer but at least I can use this as an outlet to express my emotions, in fact I consider myself as an amateur and as an amateur I idolized and admire the abilities of Rizal as a writer, a novelist, and as an essayist. His works had touched the life of the people in his time, because of his works I learned to express myself in my own works without any hesitation. Rizal’s objective in writing his two famous novels, the “Noli me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo”, is to open the mind of his countrymen and to make them realize that they own the Philippines, this act is like giving something to the Filipinos the things that the Spaniards forbid them to have. The objective of Rizal inspires me to share the things that I know through my writings. As a writer, I want to write essays and articles that may open the mind of the readers. Another important lesson that I’ve learned from Rizal’s life is to realize to myself that a pen is much more powerful than a sword, My “ninong” always wanted me to become a policemen, it is true that being a policemen is a very heroic profession because of their motto: “to serve and protect” but I don’t want to serve everyone having a gun with me. Just like the quote from Bulwer: “ Take away the sword; state can be saved without it; bring the pen!”
